As a MECAL* authorised examiner Richard Sarre can conduct code compliance surveys for British (red flagged**) vessels of up to 24m Load Line Length (corresponding to a overall length of up to 29m is some cases), and for Jersey (red flagged) vessels of over 24m Load Line Length up to 200 GT. This is particularly useful for larger sailboats where, in some cases, the LOA can approach 40m before exceeding the 200 GT limit. MCA LY2 pre-compliance surveys are also carried out for owners of larger yachts wishing to establish the feasibility of their vessel complying with the code.
